Technology
Different Experiences
From early on, both Junior and Senior School students have access to a wide range of devices and operating systems, including iPads, Windows Desktops and Laptops, and Apple Macs. All students experience a range of existing and emerging technologies - from basic word processing to robotics, programming, virtual and augmented reality, video editing and more. Specialist classes feature an array of technologies such as 3D Printers, Laser Cutters and SLR cameras.
In addition to school-provided computers and iPads, there are 1:1 technology programs in place at Huntingtower:
Junior School: iPad Program
Students from Years 3 - 6 love our iPad Program where each student is provided with an iPad for school use. The iPad offers different methods of education not available on a traditional laptop and an extra level of creativity – both important aspects of Upper Junior schooling.
Secondary School: BYOL Program
To facilitate the best academic and VCE outcomes, students in Years 7 - 12 bring their own Windows or Apple laptop to school (the Bring Your Own Laptop program).
Students can source their laptop from anywhere, as long as it meets some basic minimum system requirements for Windows or Apple laptops. For those who want more tailored options, Huntingtower has partnered with JB HiFi to create an Education Storefront with devices that suit our program. Information regarding specification requirements and the JB HiFi program is provided to parents once their child has been accepted.
