Well done Xavier Tan (Year 8) for winning both the 100m Breaststroke and the 200m Breaststroke In the recent Victorian State Championship Long Course.
Xavier also competed in two individual and three relay events in the School Sport Australia Swimming Championships. He qualified for the finals for his two individual events and came 7th in both for the 13-14 years age group.
Remarkedly, he swam one age group up in the relays. In the Boys 15-16 years 200 Metre Relay, the team came 7th; in the Boys 15-16 years 200 Free Relay, the team came 9th and in the Boys 13-19 years Handicap Relay the team came 5th.
Xavier was selected by Swimming Victoria for Junior Talent Squad in 2018 and 2019 and he was also selected for School Sport Australia in 2016 and 2017 (in the Pacific School Games in Adelaide).
In the Victorian State Championship Short Course 2018 he came first in the 100m Breaststroke and second in the 200m Breaststroke.
