Early Learning Centre
First Steps to Life-long Learning
Huntingtower’s Early Learning Centre offers an enriched Pre-Prep education to both 3 and 4 year old children. Within a loving and carefully structured environment, our ELC children take their first steps towards becoming successful life-long learners.
Our 3 year old group is focussed on the development of socialisation skills. They learn about their exciting world during carefully planned play activities. The program for the 4 year old group builds upon these foundations and further nurtures the skills, values and attitudes that will form a sound basis for education in future years.
Our ELC program incorporates challenging and stimulating experiences designed to foster each child’s confidence, curiosity, independence, empathy and resilience. In the Huntingtower ELC, our young students discover that learning is fun and that life is full of adventure.
Environment
The Early Learning Centre is specifically designed for the Pre-Prep age group. It has its own entrance and a separate, fenced play area with spaces that inspire creative, imaginative and safe play. Here, our ELC children can engage in independent learning or team up with friends and peers.
Specialist Programs
Children in our ELC have the privilege of lessons with specialist teachers from the Junior School. Both the 3 and 4 year old groups have specialist music, library and PMP (Perceptual Motor Program) lessons each week and the Learning Enrichment teacher visits regularly.
A formal transition program for Foundation takes place for the 4 year old group at the end of each year.
Staff
Huntingtower’s ELC directors and assistants foster strong relationships and a sense of belonging with all the children in their care. Their educational programs are age-appropriate, relevant and engaging.
